Wood Chipper PL-160K is a disc-type shredder designed for processing wood waste and woodworking. It can transform branches, tree crowns, logging waste, rails, and scrap wood into wood chips. The output fraction ranges from 5 to 20 mm, and the size can be adjusted by regulating the knives on the cutting disc. The processed material is ideal for use as fuel in boilers with screw feeders, and with additional processing, it can be used to produce pellets and fuel pellets.

The wood chipper PL-160K consists of a housing, cutting device, disc, hydraulic system – the mechanism for feeding wood, and a sleeve for discharging wood chips. The unit is mounted on the rear three-point hitch of the tractor.

Woodworking waste is fed into the receiving bunker, where there are toothed rollers. Rotating, they pull the wood into the working area with the cutting disc. Knives are installed on the disc. The drive for the rollers is provided by two hydraulic motors. The drive for the cutting disc is activated by the power take-off shaft of the tractor, with a rotation frequency of up to 1000 rpm, through a cardan transmission. The diameter of the input wood should not exceed 160 mm. The thickness of the chip fraction at the output is from 5 to 20 mm, depending on the adjustment of the knives on the cutting disc, which can be easily done by opening the top cover.

The power of the wood chipper allows obtaining up to 9 cubic meters of wood chips per hour. If you plan to buy a productive wood chipper for the tractor, pay attention to this model.

During rotation, the cutting disc shreds the wood into chips, which are ejected by an air flow through the sleeve. The sleeve rotates 360 degrees, allowing adjustment of the direction of chip discharge, and the ejection distance is regulated using a deflector. The maximum ejection distance is up to 4 meters, allowing wood processing directly into a trailer. For safe operation, the input bunker is equipped with a protective curtain to protect the operator. The drive can be stopped using the control block. In case of need or emergency situations, it is also possible to stop the pulling shafts using the control frame with a distributor.

A distinctive feature of PL-160K is its mobility when used with a tractor, allowing for a change in the working area. The wood chipper is ideal for those who require large processing volumes and plan to use the tractor's power for its operation.
